Although he'll always be remembered for his 1988 novelty hit "Don't Worry Be Happy," Bobby McFerrin is one of the most talented musicians in pop music. Possessed of a four-octave range and astounding vocal percussion skills, McFerrin has worked with artists as diverse as Yo-Yo Ma and Herbie Hancock, as well as numerous world-renown symphony orchestras. McFerrin, like no other artist, has managed to bridge the gap between pop and classical music by illustrating that the varying artistry and techniques that mark those forms are not mutually exclusive.
