Album Review

New Orleans' own The Iguanas are back with the most mature and groovin' disc of their career, Plastic Silver 9-Volt Heart. Reunited with producer Justin Niebank (Allison Moorer, Delbert McClinton, George Jones, Albert Collins, etc), the 14-Song collection goes beyond the quintet's accustomed mix of Tex-Mex, rock, and R & B. Combining the band's familiar mix of Latin and Carribean grooves with the feel of a dark and sultry New Orleans night, the new music is exotic, intoxicating, mesmerizing and the groove is slow and sinuous. Released in time for the annual music fest in New Orleans, The Jazz and Heritage Festival, the new release is bound to create a stir for old and new fans alike. The Iguanas will be touring nationally following the release of Plastic Silver 9-Volt Heart.
