TOWER.COM REVIEW
Asia - Phoenix
Asia’s reunion release, Phoenix, stands as a comparable album to any of their 80’s efforts, with a twist of augmented maturity as we find them concentrating on writing full bodied melodious tunes rather than cracking off catchy hooks to suit the radio.
The beauty of this release maintaining the creative quality of the original Asia is that we’re provided with Phoenix, an album that will draw an original fan base. The people who grew up listening to John Wetton and Steve Howe will once again turn there attention to the aging rock stars if for no other reason then that they yearn for mirrored musical quality of there past youth.
Enjoying the dominating keys and wailing riffs that drew you to them originally is nothing less than rejuvenating. For those of you who thought they’d never see the likes of Asia again, from the ashes rises Phoenix.
