When Freeway dropped PHILADELPHIA FREEWAY in 2003, it was the ex-drug dealer and renowned freestyler's coming out party on Roc-a-Fella Records. For the sequel, six years later, Freeway's back to his indie roots (on Real Talk): the beats are lighter and sparer, but since Freeway has already long established himself as one of the rap game's most crafty linguists, it matters little. "Gotz 2 Be Da Bomb," one of the most unusual mother-thanking raps in history, he dubs himself the "Saddam Hussein of rap." It's a tossed-off rhyme that sums up the Philly MC: fearless, unpretentious, and clever.
