Title Note

Founded by Jim "Father Yod" Baker in the mid '60s, the Source Family restaurant served organic food of international renown and used the profits to support a communal life in the Hollywood Hills that included daily meditations, natural birth and death, and spiritual growth through the free-form rock improvisations of one smokingly weird house band, the Yo Ha Wha 13.

Recorded in Father Yod's garage, PENETRATION, AN AQUARIAN SYMPHONY finds the 13 on one of their darkest excursions. As its title suggests, the performance has the feel of a brown acid symphony with four loosely defined movements that peak and dissipate on the collective energy of drummer Octavius's primal beats, guitarist Djin's feral shredding, and Father Yod's open-throated incantations. JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR this is not--but for anyone interested in truly out-there relics from truly Aquarian long-hairs, PENETRATION, AN AQUARIAN SYMPHONY will provide a mesmerizing experience as both psychedelic music and sociological case study.
