Product note

NOT IF IT PLEASES ME is a compilation of previously unreleased BBC sessions from 1976 and 1977.
Graham Parker & The Rumour: Graham Parker (vocals, guitar); Brinsley Schwarz (guitar, background vocals); Martin Belmont (guitar); Bob Andrews (keyboards); Andrew Bodnar (bass); Steve Goulding (drums).
Includes liner notes by Graham Parker.
The only previous live document of the pre-SQUEEZING OUT SPARKS GP and the Rumour was the fairly tepid PARKERILLA. So this concert album--a mix of BBC sessions from late 1976 and early '77 and a '77 show at the Hippodrome--is a long overdue reminder that, at their peak, these guys were murderous on stage. Parker contributes very funny liner notes, including an apology of sorts for mispronouncing drummer Stephen Goulding's last name during "Kansas City."
