From its title to its eye-catching cover art, Todd Snider's PEACE QUEER delivers a strong message. Although a mere eight songs (the album is technically an EP), PEACE QUEER is one of the alternative singer-songwriter's most focused and forceful efforts. Snider offers commentary on war (in the half-rapped opener "Mission Accomplished (Because You Gotta Have Faith") and other contemporary ills with remarkable insight, wit, and verbal facility. The songwriter's way with a phrase and his wry, conversational delivery are perfectly supported by his rootsy mix of folk, blues, and country, which means PEACE QUEER should appeal to fans of many genres, and to anyone who appreciates good songwriting.

Todd Snider is such a great musician. Give his track "mission accomplished" a listen and youll understand not only his overarching lyrical genius, but his spot-on guitar playing and wry, intelligent sarcasm that colors many of his best tunes. This CD is sure to please varied audiences. A great addition to any rock/country/singer-songwriter fans library! Superb work, Todd!
