On PAPER TELEVISION, their 2006 full-length release on K Records, the Portland-based duo known as the Blow (made up of Jona Becholt on percussion and electronics and Khaela Maricich on vocals) mix synth-pop beats with irreverent lyrical content. Short but sweet--the album clocks in at about 30 minutes--PAPER TELEVISION represents a departure from the 2004 EP POOR AIM: LOVE SONGS in that the duo neglects acoustic instrumentation in favor of melodic, lo-fi programming that often sounds like a satirical take on the Neptunes' brand of pop-R&B.
