On this 2004 release, the Romanian panflutist merges folk music from his homeland with European classical music, enlisting the London Symphony Orchestra on some tracks. However, this is just the tip of the iceberg. Depending on the song, listeners will hear a variety of Middle Eastern and African modalities, touches of American jazz and Spanish gypsy music, and a wide assortment of techno-driven grooves.

Rarely does an artist bring together so many disparate styles of music with such clarity. However, ONENESS, as the title suggests, unites musical cultures with great ease. Best known as a panflute virtuoso, Damian focuses more here on intense musical tapestries and guest vocal spots. "Moonlight in St. Petersburg" is the perfect example of Damian's musical confluence. Based on German composer Johannes Brahms' Symphony No. 3, this song contains a Miles Davis-like muted trumpet solo, electronic drum loops, a woman speaking in Russian, and Romanian panflute melodies. This music couldn't get any more multi-cultural.
