Title Note

One of the most flat-out-fun dance records in years is THE ONE, Japanese producer/DJ Shinichi Osawa's debut full-length. Osawa was Japan's best-selling electronic artist at the time of its release, and THE ONE will no doubt have the effect of boosting his stature worldwide. The music is poppy and crowd-pleasing in a Daft Punk kind of way. Tracks like "The Golden" (full of bright guitars) and "Our Song" (pure pop) have the kind of crossover appeal that transcends the dancefloor. The most standout track is a Chemical Brothers cover called "Star Guitar" with Au Revoir Simone on vocals. A second disc of remixes features artists like Crookers, Van She, and Streetlife.
