Alesanas sophomore effort "On Frail Wings of Vanity and Wax" is a much stronger outing then Try This With Your Eyes Closed, theyve improved both musically and when it comes to song writing. This album features some of the bands most well known tracks including Beautiful in Blue, Ambrosia, and Apology, which was actually the first 3 songs I ever heard from the band. Dennis Lee, screaming vocalist for Alesana has a crisp yet very raspy way of unleashing his screams, which I think helps the overall sound of the music. Its different and it mixes very well with the very high pitched singing of Shawn Mike, who does an amazing job at handling most of the choruses and creating a unique sound for the band. As a hardcore/screamo band, Alesana is one of the few that really stand out musically. They got popularity very quickly, and this was helped by their song Apology, which is known by Alesana fans all over the world. I enjoyed every song off of "On Frail Wings of Vanity and Wax" and I hope most Alesana fans will find themselves wanting more after the album is over. I know I did.
