Omnimotion is the name for the musical project fronted by Swedish writer/producer Stefan Lundaahl. Moody, swirling, and a bit forbidding, Lundaahl's music brings together downbeat elements of contemporary electronica such as trip-hop, ambient, and tribal trance. While the music is somewhat dark and icy (one can easily picture snowy Scandinavian expanses), there is an undeniable allure to these evocative sonic landscapes that sometimes recalls Aphex Twin's ambient works.

Lundaahl has recruited singer Linda Martio on a few of these tracks, and her wavering soprano (which sometimes sounds like it's being purposefully edited and collaged through the mix) add to the dreamy disorientation here. Ambient fans seeking warm, feel-good textures may want to turn elsewhere, but the smooth, shadowy worlds on OMNIMOTION will pull listeners along for a heady, surging ride.
