A supergroup comprising members of the jam band Umphrey's McGee and OHM (most notably guitarist Chris Poland, also known for his work with Megadeth), OHMphrey is a genre-splicing adventure into uncharted waters. With an emphasis on improv, OHMphrey fold in everything from metal to progressive rock to jazz fusion. There's no shortage of twists and turns on their self-titled debut, but the one constant is the dazzling caliber of the musicians, all of whom have the chance to show their ample chops on this vigorous eight-song disc.
