Eighteen Visions: James Hart (vocals); Keith Barney (guitar); Mick Morris (bass guitar); Ken Floyd (drums).
Recording information: 2004.
Mixing fierce heavy metal with blistering hardcore punk and a touch of melody, Eighteen Visions garnered attention on the 2004 Warped Tour, which coincided with the release of the band's fourth Trustkill Records album, OBSESSION. Here frontman James Hart sings and screams with a remarkable fury, backed up by rumbling percussion, lumbering bass lines, and alternately crushing and atmospheric guitar riffs. "Waiting for the Heavens" features soaring vocals that morph into pained howls, while "Tower of Snakes" is carried along by the tight timekeeping of the relentless rhythm section. Fueled by plenty of angst and aggression, the music of Eighteen Visions occasionally verges on emo territory, making it appealing to anyone that likes their music loud and intense.
