Down Beat (11/97, pp.57-58) - 4 stars (out of 5) - "...Rowland's approach is more interprative than actually performing Davis' music....[his] renditions of tunes associated with the trumpeter...are warmly evocative....there is nary a misstep on this project..."

Recorded at Capitol Studios A and G, Los Angeles, California on December 2-3, 1996 and January 7-8, 1997. Includes liner notes by Andrew Rowan.
