Title Note

The Skeletons: D. Clinton Thompson (vocals, guitar); Joe Terry (vocals, keyboards); Lou Whitney (vocals, bass); Bobby Lloyd Hicks (vocals, drums).

Additional personnel: Dave Wilson (fiddle).

Recorded at The Studio, Springfield, Missouri.

Known in part for their imaginative choice of obscure covers, on NOTHING TO LOSE the Skeletons present a set of nearly all-original material. Although reduced to a quartet (after their second keyboardist left), the Skeletons are a tasteful, punchy, and perfectly matched bunch of players. Four strong singers lend their lyrical department variety and breadth. With a deep knowledge of the music from the first two decades of the rock era, the Skeleton's songs and arrangements evoke the great days of '60s radio diversity. Being seasoned players, the group has a touch of world weariness that tempers the cheerful pop bearings of the album. The Skeletons have never received the public recognition they deserve. This album and their earlier WAITING are both highly recommended.
