New York singer-songwriter Shannon McNally moved to New Orleans in 2003 to seek her musical fortune, and her 2005 studio album GERONIMO was the result. This live set features songs from that release, as well as from her previous JUKEBOX SPARROWS album and her BOLDER THAN PARADISE EP. McNally's strong, supple voice and evocative songs come over well against a workmanlike musical background that translates GERONIMO's lush production into more prosaic bar-band terms. McNally's solo song "Leave Your Bags By the Door" and the stately, melancholy country of "My Heroes Have Always Been Cowboys" are both highlights, while the Native American salute of "Geronimo" is a suitably emotional finale.
