This Baltimore group exists in a musical space befitting their name, straddling a line between raw post-punk and a more contemporary dalliance with post-rock soundscapes. On (K)NO(W)HERE, their captivating vocalist James Johnson leads them through an invigorating set of slow burners that's all downtempo buildups and cathartic, cymbal-crashing echo-pedal crescendos. "Silver Gene" is the album's most succinctly exciting track, but there's plenty of difficult beauty to be had as things close out with the dramatic one-two punch of "Soft Cage" and the title track.
