Album Description

The high rating that this two-LPs-on-one-CD release deserves is mostly a result of three factors: the first is the superb sound of the remastering, state of the art and rich in detail and impact; the second is the presence of Bobby Vee Meets the Ventures, one of the singer's hardest-rocking albums; and the third is the superbly detailed annotation. All of these elements overcome the shortcomings of the pop songs from the Night Has a Thousand Eyes album, which comprise the first half of this CD and really haven't held up too well (with one notable exception, "It Might as Well Rain Until September"). ~ Bruce Eder
