MY WORLD is a wholesome, fresh contemporary country debut from Cyndi Thomson, who has an appealing way with a Southern drawl and a pop hook. The former comes courtesy of her Georgia upbringing and the latter due to her songwriting partnership with Tommy Lee James, who has also helped out such country luminaries as Reba McEntire, Martina McBride, and Brooks & Dunn.

Virtually every track here is a potential crossover hit, but Thomson has the added advantage of actually sounding like she's having a blast singing this stuff. Among the standouts "I Always Liked That Best" is a sexy, bittersweet litany of Thomson turn-ons that's also a lament for a lost lover, while one can only stand back and admire the funky, irresistible "Things I Would Do," which has certain hit written all over its stickily infectious grooves.
