The 800th anniversary of the birth of the best-known Sufi of the ages, Rumi, is the inspiration for this fascinating musical document of the traditional ritual songs of the Sufi faith. These are the songs at the heart of the whirling dervishes' dances. Though it is meant to be educational, the album is also musically enchanting, with sweet melodies, variable tempos, and a spirit that says, "Come dance with us!"
