Title Note

There's music that's hard to categorize and then there's Rafter. On his second record for Asthmatic Kitty, MUSIC FOR TOTAL CHICKENS, Robert Rafter throws so many diverse genres into the mix--all performed with equal expertise--that he makes a mission statement out of Attention Deficit Disorder. He's capable of deconstructing the already deconstructed funk of the Minutemen, referencing BITCHES BREW, and pulling from lo-fi electronica and twee-pop all in the intro to one song. But he's a natural at everything he attempts, and MUSIC FOR TOTAL CHICKENS flows despite its quilted nature.
