Tracks 8-11, featuring Paul Palmieri, Dick Wetmore, Calo Scott, Vinnie Burke and Dave Bailey, were not included on the original LP release of THE GERRY MULLIGAN SONGBOOK. They are from an album by the Vinnie Burke String Quartet that was recorded in 1958 and assigned a record-company catalog number, but never commercially released.
THE GERRY MULLIGAN SONGBOOK was released as a stereo LP, but this 1996 CD reissue was made from mono master tapes. The stereo masters could not be found.
