Tanya Morgan Artist Snapshot:

Despite the moniker, Tanya Morgan is not a female solo artist but rather a trio of male MCs. Cincinnati MCs Ilyas and Donwill combined with Brooklyn MC/producer Von Pea via cyberspace in 2003, passing demo tracks back and forth. With similar tastes and inspirations, the crew seemed a perfect fit and Tanya Morgan was born. With beats provided by Von Pea as well as producer Brickbeats, they recorded half of what would become their debut LP, MOONLIGHTING, before they had met in person. Releasing a mixtape (SUNLIGHTING) and an EP (SUNSET) online, the group created a strong critical buzz before MOONLIGHTING appeared in 2006 on Loud Minority.
