1963's MINK JAZZ finds Peggy Lee in a mod musical setting, augmenting an understated jazz feel with percussion and flute. Lee has an uncanny sense of rhythm; she "reads" her songs with the sensitivity of a poetry recital.

And poetry is what these songs become, transforming good material into enchanting experiences. "Please Don't Rush Me" and "I Could Write A Book" showcase her personality, as well her performing skills.
