The soundtrack to Michael Mann's 2006 screen adaptation of the popular 1980s TV show MIAMI VICE is packed with musical offerings as diverse and flavorful as the city where the film takes place. From nu-metal act Nonpoint's adaptation of Phil Collins's "In the Air Tonight," to R&B/folk chanteuse India.Arie's "Ready for Love" to a house mix of a Nina Simone tune, the set flits effortlessly between genres, covering salsa, electronica, and even atmospheric prog rock (check Mogwai's "Auto Rock"). Eclectic, high-energy, and fun, the MIAMI VICE film soundtrack stands as a fine complement to the film, and a tasty, mixed-genre sampler on its own.
