Born and raised in the dusty oil town of Hobbs, New Mexico, just across the border of the Texas panhandle, Ryan Bingham possesses an honesty informing his brand of country music that comes in part from the parched, flat, tumbleweed-strewn surroundings in which he grew up. A teenage career as a professional bull rider was followed by a long stint paying his dues on the Texas country circuit. Bingham signed with the indie Lone Star Music for his 2006 debut album DEAD HORSES; its success in the country underground led him to Universal's alt-country imprint Lost Highway for 2008's MESCALITO.
