Title Note

Liner Note Author: William Hogeland.

The Best of Hannibal: Music from Hannibal, Red Dragon, The Silence of the Lambs is a collection of 13 musical highlights from the film adaptations of the popular Thomas Harris novels about a flesh-eating psychiatrist. Each film was scored by a different composer, resulting in a multitude of themes made seamless by the fact that they were created by -- in order of release -- Howard Shore, Hans Zimmer, and Danny Elfman. On this particular collection, the lush orchestrations, ghostly choirs, and bursts of ghastly brass terror used so effectively by the previously mentioned artists are performed using keyboard effects and string patches by the new age artist(s) Mask -- who coincidently did the same thing to the Lord of the Rings soundtracks. ~ James Christopher Monger
