Title Note

Like his filmmaking peer Wes Anderson, Noah Baumbach has a knack for featuring smart, left-of-center songs in his movies, and the soundtrack to the director/writer's 2007 offering, MARGOT AT THE WEDDING, is no exception. Ranging from the rootsy, melancholy "Romeo's Tune" by underrated singer-songwriter Steve Forbert to "The Wagon," a propulsive Dinosaur Jr. alt-rock classic, to the effervescent pop of Blondie's "Sunday Girl," the collection perfectly captures the emotional ups and downs of the film. Adding to MARGOT's impressive eclecticism are Alice Cooper's "You and Me," a surprisingly tender ballad, and the wistful "Something on Your Mind" by the late folk singer Karen Dalton, resulting in an unpredictable and thoughtful compilation.
