Mannheim Steamroller keyboardist and mastermind Chip Davis has made a long, profitable career out of combining classical-tinged orchestrations with various pop traditions in an instrumental context. Davis takes his modus operandi to its next logical step on MEETS THE MOUSE, where he tackles the Disney Songbook. Classic tunes "Chim Chim Cher-ee" and "Heigh-Ho" rub shoulders with more recent Disney-derived compositions such as Randy Newman's "You've Got a Friend in Me." Throughout, Davis's keyboards and a flexible orchestra sound equally at home with the classical influences in the arrangements and the timeless pop craftsmanship of the songs.
