Review

JazzTimes (p.82) - "Never before...has the remarkable Berman canon been as lovingly or enticingly examined as in this 13-track assortment..."

Title Note

Recording information: Sender Freies, Berlin, Germany.

The husband-and-wife team of Marilyn and Alan Bergman are among the most oft-recorded/performed songwriters of the 20th and 21st centuries. Many of their songs have become pop and jazz standards, and they've won numerous awards, including three Oscars. LYRICALLY is Alan Bergman's recording debut as a singer, and the Berlin Big Band and Radio Orchestra accompany him along with ace jazz players Christian McBride (bass) and Jeff Hamilton (drums). Fans of the Great American Songbook will be swooning over this.
