Lisa Germano's sixth album is an extended meditation on unhappiness as seen through the bottom of a wine glass, and as always, the devastating beauty of Germano's sparse and off-kilter piano ballads is matched only by the somber, tannic brilliance of her admittedly depressing lyrics. Though mostly a home-recorded solo effort, Germano is joined at various junctures here by Neil Finn, Johnny Marr, and former Prince sidewoman Wendy Melvoin.

Originally released in 2003, LULLABY FOR LIQUID PIG met with rave reviews and then faded into obscurity. Rescued by ex-Swan Michael Gira's Young God Records label, the album was re-released in 2007 with over 20 minutes of additional material.
