On its self-tiled 2008 debut, Low Vs. Diamond (no connection to the slowcore band Low) unveils a confident collection of alternative-rock tunes. Not as blatantly indebted to post-punk as many of its peer acts, the group, fronted by singer/guitarist Lucas Field, still mines the same vein as the Killers and the Bravery, albeit with a slightly more mainstream sound (see the lively anthem "Heart Attack").
