The punk rock tradition upheld by such veteran acts as Green Day is continued here by this Christian band from Orange County, who also play a kind of slowed-down fourth generation ska, often, as in the case of "Forward To The Future" and "Spend it With You," within the same song. Their Christian inspiration isn't immediately obvious; a cursory listen may reveal only the usual misguided angst of the Californian punk rocker, but further perusal and a glance at their besuited stage personas reveals a bunch who could equally be the Jehovah's Witnesses on your doorstep or a Specials tribute band.
Songs like "Wilderness" and "Return of the Revolution" combine the band's Christian message with its ska orientation in seamless fashion. For those who prefer their religion laced with the uptempo two-step that is turn-of-the century ska, or their ska with a dash of religion, the OC Supertones deliver both in spades.
