New Orleans piano legend Professor Longhair traveled to London in 1978 to play the concert heard here, letting another culture experience a living American musical tradition first-hand. The 30th anniversary release of that performance only serves to remind the world how rich, nuanced, and visceral Longhair's piano and vocal style were. Accompanied by nothing more than his own piano and a conga player he moves through classics like "Big Chief," "Tipitina," and others like a man who lives and breathes the spirit of New Orleans R&B.
