Review

Rolling Stone (p.64) - 3.5 stars out of 5 -- "LIVERPOOL 8 is a celebration of everything Ringo -- his musical wit, his cheer, his commitment to the Sixties ideals of peace and love."
Uncut (p.75) - 3 stars out of 5 -- "[P]ossibly the best thing he's done since GOODNIGHT VIENNA....Every song, from the title track to country closer 'Crossover' has melody, wit and galumphing charm that has marked Starr's best work..."

The Word (magazine) (p.102) - "LIVERPOOL 8 is all about that brilliantly nasal voice, a spot of mock musichall, some still-amazed-to-be-getting-away-with-it-glee and cheeringly non-specific odes to the power of love."

Judging from the 2008 release of LIVERPOOL 8, "Mr. Rhythm" shows no signs of fading away. As amiable, down-to-earth, and lovable as he was when playing with the Beatles nearly 40 years prior, Ringo looks back over his life in the touching title track, dips into gospel on "R U Ready," decries war in "Give Love a Try," and delivers more than his share of satisfying pop gems across the album's 12 tracks. LIVERPOOL 8 is nostalgic, fun, bittersweet, and touching all at the same time.

5 out of 5 stars Liverpool 8 is a Ten ! Peace and Love !, February 26, 2008

I absolutely loved it. Ringos work in the the 21st century just keeps getting better with each new release. I am most impressed with his growth as both a song writer and a story teller. Much like the folk-rock days, Ringo spins his yarns of the people and places he he knows then lets us in. I feel I am just a little bit closer to Mr. Starkey after every word. Beautiful.
