Title Note

Shooter Jennings/The .357's: Leroy Powell (vocals, guitar); Ted Russell Kamp (vocals, bass instrument); Bryan Keeling (drums).

Country in surname only, Shooter Jennings dashes comparisons to his father Waylon's chosen genre on LIVE AT IRVING PLAZA by bringing the ruckus. The tunes feel like roots rock--the roots being Skynyrd, Black Oak Arkansas, and even at times Steve Earle. Jennings, like fellow fortunate son Hank Williams III, filters those roots through a 1990s alt-rock scope (imagine Everclear or Stone Temple Pilots with twang). But amid the stomp of "Gone to Carolina" and wah-wah blasts of "Electric Rodeo," Jennings offers a break from the power chords on "Lonesome Blues," a countrified reminder that he is indeed That Guy's son.
