Soap opera star turned pop singer Jack Wagner did not have nearly the success that his compatriot Rick Springfield had earlier in the 1980s. Originally released in 1985, Wagner's second album, LIGHTING UP THE NIGHT, had no chart hits on the level of 1984's power ballad "All I Need." Highlights like "Keep Holdin' On," "I'll Be There," and "Let's Start All Over" are fine mid-'80s soft rock, however.
