Uncut (p.111) - 3 stars out of 5 -- "[O]n 'Five Years', 'Quicksand' and a forlorn 'Lady Stardust' he quivers sincerely on the verge of a favela-folk-tinged rock'n'roll suicide."

Possibly the best thing about Wes Anderson's sea-faring dramedy THE LIFE AQUATIC was the appearance of singer Seu Jorge. Jorge plays a character in the film who lounges about the ship, playing an acoustic guitar and singing David Bowie songs in Portuguese. THE LIFE AQUATIC STUDIO SESSIONS is an album of Jorge's performances for the film. His beautifully textured voice and quietly strummed acoustic lend a new charm to Bowie classics like "Life on Mars?" and "Changes," and make for an irresistible listening experience for fans of Brazilian music, the film, Bowie, and just about everyone else.
