Personnel: Adrian Belew (vocals, guitar); Robert Fripp, Trey Gunn (guitar); Pat Mastelotto (drums).

This 2002 live recording finds the 21st-century King Crimson in an improvisatory mode. While there are a couple of full-fledged compositions, including the title track from their album THE CONSTRUKCTION OF LIGHT and this collection's own title track, "Level Five," much of the rest harks back to the band's mid-'70s heyday when free-wheeling improv was one of its mightiest tools. Most of the personnel were different then, but mainstay Robert Fripp sounds equally at home bashing ideas around with Adrian Belew, Trey Gunn, and Pat Mastelotto.
