In this comedic opera by Pietro Mascagni, a rich landowner, Fritz Kobus (Jose Bros) declares himself a permanent bachelor, but his rabbi friend David (Allessandro Paliaga) counters with a bet that Fritz will marry within a year. Failing to rise to David's challenge, Fritz soon finds himself in love with his tenant's daughter, Suzel (Dimitra Theodossiou), who is betrothed to another! This program was recorded at the Teatro di Livorno and is sang in Italian.
