George Michael Artist Snapshot:

George Michael rose to worldwide superstardom as part of the cheery dance pop duo Wham! in the 1980s, before going solo after three hit albums. Michael enjoyed even more success on his own, updating older dance styles (soul, '70s disco, etc.) and even dipping into social commentary (1990's LISTEN WITHOUT PREJUDICE). After Freddie Mercury's death, Michael performed a high-profile tribute concert with Queen, taking Mercury's role.

Though he made his initial mark on music history as half of the unctuous British duo Wham, George Michael wasted little time in proving himself more than just a pretty pop face. This comprehensive two-disc compilation documents the career of a man who was able to successfully meld pop, R&B and serious, introspective balladry without ever losing sight of the all-important groove and hook.

Thankfully, LADIES AND GENTLEMEN doesn't skimp on tracks from Michael's classic solo debut, and tracks like Bo Diddley beat-driven "Faith" and the lusty, Prince-like "I Want Your Sex" sound as fresh as ever. Later cuts show Michael's maturation as both a vocalist and songwriter, and collaborations with Elton John and bossa nova legend Astrud Gilberto serve to emphasize the wide stylistic range Michael is capable of traversing.

I like the song I knew You were Waiting for me Duet with Aretha Franklin. I like Spin The Wheel,Papa was a Rolling Stone,Father Figure.I dont like Outside.In the video George wore a police uniform and leather gloves and pointy cowboy boots.It showed him with a man in jeans outside a van.So cheesy.Lyrics were My Angel Dont You worry about the things there saying yeah yeah! Got no friends in high places and the game that you gave away.Was it worth playing?
