Product Notes

In 1997 Danish director Lars von Trier produced a second set of episodes for his unique and compelling TV show, THE KINGDOM. The action once again takes places in the creepy surroundings of Copenhagen's Kingdom hospital, and begins at the exact point where the first series ended. Judith (Birgitte Raaberg) has given birth to a disfigured baby, Doctor Helmer (Ernst-Hugo Järegård) is facing a malpractice charge and has started practicing voodoo, and demonic forces are at work throughout the decrepit institution. Von Trier lets the show build to a dramatic climax in this complete collection of episodes from the second series of his impressively original show.

Stephen King tried to rewrite this and pass it off on ABC. Sorry--nothing compares to this bizarre Danish mini-series from the director of Dancer in the Dark, Breaking the Waves, and more.
