This 2008 edition of KIDZ BOP HALLOWEEN presents all the tracks on the earlier version, along with three previously unreleased tunes. One of these additions--a pop-punk version of "Ding Dong the Witch Is Dead" from THE WIZARD OF OZ--allows the youthful KIDZ BOP singers to really cut loose, and fits nicely with songs such as "Ghostbusters" (from the movie of the same name) and Michael Jackson's horror-pop classic, "Thriller."

The Razor & Tie label hit on a winning formula with its KIDZ BOP KIDS series, which features newly recorded, kid-sung, and "kid friendly" versions of best-selling hit songs. With KIDZ BOP HALLOWEEN (not to mention KIDZ BOP CHRISTMAS), the line expands into theme albums timed perfectly for the holidays. All of the classic horror-related novelty numbers are here, from Bobby "Boris" Pickett's genre-defining "Monster Mash" to Michael Jackson's cinematic "Thriller" and Ray Parker, Jr.'s "Ghostbusters." These aren't the original versions, of course, but the Kidz Bop Kids production team manages to keep things fairly true to the sources, delivering peppy, expertly executed music that will fit well right alongside the costumes and candy corn.
