Like Al Green and other great gospel-soul artists before him, Brian Courtney Wilson applies his smooth, sweet tenor to songs of praise, alchemizing a simple R&B ballad into an uplifting and unifying experience. Wilson had been working as a pharmaceutical sales rep and as the music director at a Houston methodist church when he was discovered by impresario Mathew Knowles (Beyonce's manager/father), who immediately signed him to his Spirit Rising label. Wilson's 2009 debut album JUST LOVE hit the Billboard Top 200, and catapulted him to acclaim in both gospel and secular music circles.

JUST LOVE is the result of Brian Courtney Wilson's decision that his straight job as a pharmaceutical sales rep wasn't fulfilling enough, and that he wanted to dedicate his life to expressing himself through music. But the more significant fact is that it was Wilson's connection to his Christian faith that ultimately informed his decision. The smooth, contemporary R&B sound of JUST LOVE brims with testimony to Wilson's belief. Tracks like the single "All I Need" and the stirring ballad "Simply Redeemed" tell of Wilson's journey toward spiritual awareness, all to a soundtrack that is upbeat, danceable, and affirming.

I met the artist at the Essence Festival, 2009, spoke to him and could not wait to listen to the CD after the short conversation. I was so pleased and inspired by the lyrics of the songs, especially, the love song, "Believe". I have played the CD over and over in my car and in the house. I pray Brian all the best and wait to hear him all over the airwaves!

I am so in love with this song. It paralyzes me with inspiration each and every time I hear it. Everything I do when it comes om the radio takes a back seat. I traveled approximately 15 miles one afternoonn in hopes of purchasing the CD, all to no avail. I am heartbroken and continue to purchase this CD because of this song. I anticipate choreographing a praise dance to this song for a banquet on March 18,2009. It is my prayer I am able to locate the song in time. Thank you for blessing me with this song, Mr. Wilson!!!
