Product note

Personnel: Lonnie Donegan (banjo); Chris Barber (trombone); Jim Bray (brass, bass instrument, drums).
Audio Remasterer: David Wright.
Lonnie Donegan's Jubilee Concert took place in 1981, celebrating the 25th anniversary of his first hit single, "Rock Island Line." Although that single broke the stripped-down skiffle fad that enamored a generation of British teens (including the Beatles), Donegan had been a member of Chris Barber's jazz band prior to its success, and this CD of the concert's first half consists primarily of tracks by Donegan, Barber, and other veterans from the 1950s U.K. jazz scene, followed by three songs from Donegan's skiffle period.
