On 2008's appropriately titled JOIN THE BAND, the veteran rock act Little Feat revisits many of its signature tunes and takes on a few covers, aided and abetted by famous friends and fans such as Dave Matthews, Bob Seger, Jimmy Buffett, and Vince Gill. Highlights include a rollicking rendition of "Something in the Water" and a deft version of the Band's ever-poignant "The Weight."

Little Feat – Join the Band

Join the Band, by American group Little Feat, is their 15th studio album and newest release since 2003’s Kickin’ It at the Barn. Formed by the late frontman Lowell George and keyboard player Bill Payne in 1969, Little Feat’s musical career has spanned fourty years, three incarnations and countless contributors and releases! Their first studio album in five years, Join the Band is a sort of greatest hits compilation with an interesting twist. Though it features no new original music, Little Feat have opted to collaborate with other iconic artists such as Bob Seger, Emmylou Harris and Dave Matthews. By using their well-known blend of rock, funk, folk, jazz, country, and rockabilly as back-up on the album and giving the contributors full control over their songs, Little Feat have created a unique little treasure in the form of Join the Band, an album that is sure to top many collectors' lists!

Little Feat are back with a new album full of greatest hits! Dave Matthews, Bob Seeger and Emmylou Harris are only some of the amazing guest stars on this CD. Cant wait to hear the whole thing!
