Title Note

Collectables' Shelley Fabares compilation, the ten-track Johnny Angel, is a serviceable disc that starts, as it should, with Fabares biggest hit "Johnny Angel." The rest of the disc is a nice mix of romantic ballads, like the number six hit "Johnny Loves Me," and lightweight near-novelty tunes like "Bye Bye Birdie" and "Football Season's Over." Unfortunately the compilers of the disc left off the only other song Fabares had a hit with, 1962's "The Things We Did Last Summer." So if you are looking for a disc that provides a complete roundup of the fair Fabares' musical career you will have to look elsewhere. If you are satisfied with the big hit or two and some random tunes to fill out the disc, then this will be just fine. ~ Tim Sendra
