Ducks Deluxe, the seminal British pub-rock band who arguably influenced the 1977-era punks, did not leave many recordings. It is fortunate that John Peel had the taste and foresight to record them live on his radio program, and that Hux Records has released 12 tracks' worth of these mid-'70s recordings. The recordings capture three different periods of the band's existence--'73, '74, and '75--and thus feature different line-ups, but the consistent thread is Sean Tyla's potent singing and guitar-playing and fun-loving songwriting.
