New Jersey's Nick Jonas began appearing in Broadway musicals at the tender age of six, and by the time he formed the mop-topped 'tween-pop band the Jonas Brothers at the age of 13 with his two older siblings Kevin and Joe, he was a seasoned stage performer. A charming explosion of crunchy power chords and sweet vocal harmonies, the Brothers' first album, released on Columbia in 2006, charted high and netted the boys slots on several lucrative tours. They made guest appearances on kid-aimed TV shows like HANNAH MONTANA and released a chart-topping second album in 2007 on Hollywood Records, inciting the ardor of their mostly prepubescent female audience.

On their 2006 Columbia debut, the Jonas Brothers offer up a set of enthusiastic punk-pop, with a heavy emphasis on the "pop," often coming across like the slightly edgy second coming of Hanson. With their boys-next-door charm, these teen siblings from New Jersey--Nicholas (13) and Joseph (16) who share vocal, guitar, and keyboard duties, and Kevin (18) who contributes guitar and backing vocals--won over audiences with the jubilant "Mandy," a remarkably catchy, revved-up tribute to friendship. Other highlights of this entertaining first outing include the emotive "Time for Me to Fly" and the sci-fi-themed "Year 3000," tracks that are sure to appeal to the tween/teen set and get approval from their parents.
